Course Description:
This hands-on course offers all the basic housekeeping skills and knowledge needed to start working as a housekeeping professional in any hotel, guest house or private dwelling. Participants will learn all the essentials of housekeeping, from roles, responsibilities of room attendants and handling laundry to understanding cleaning products and room preparation procedures. This course is targeted at housekeeping workers/job seekers, career development in housekeeping, accommodation operators and anyone interested expanding knowledge and skills in housekeeping.
This course covers training in various aspects of housekeeping knowledge and skills such as:
- Differentiating among cleaning methodologies in various spaces
- Cleaning tools and methods for different spaces, surfaces, furniture and finishes
- Identifying the hazards in cleaning and practicing safety
- Organising, maintaining and executing a cleaning schedule

Vernella Jack – Joseph is an experienced professional with over ten years of experience in the hospitality industry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Tourism and Hospitality Management from the Australian Institute of Business. She also has certificates in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations Management, Labor Laws of Trinidad and Tobago, and Supervisory Management from reputable institutions in Trinidad and Tobago.
