Mr. Raakesh Madoo is a Food and Beverage Lecturer at the Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (THTI), and formerly at the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (TTHTI), with eighteen years of experience. His professional approach emphasizes training and developing young professionals in food and beverage management, empowering them through meaningful classroom experiences.
Mr. Madoo is a certified CHE Educator and WSET (Level 2 Wines and Level 3 Spirits) qualified and holds a Certificate in Public Administration, a BSc in Management Studies, and an MSc in Project Management from the University of the West Indies. His current focus is on applying Project Management principles and best practices to Food and Beverage Operations, gaining insights into their operational issues and challenges.
In 2005, Raakesh was named the Caribbean Bartender of the Year by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) and was inducted into its Hall of Fame. He has conducted Bartending and Beverage Management Workshops throughout the Caribbean and has collaborated with the House of Angostura on various special projects. As a lecturer, he has inspired and empowered many students to confidently face industry challenges and pursue entrepreneurial ventures.
Raakesh’s career goal is to integrate Project Management principles into the Food and Beverage Industry through lecturing, consultancy, and entrepreneurial initiatives, while gaining a deeper understanding of the operational challenges in this field.
