Course Description:
This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to establish and maintain successful small-scale farming systems. Through hands-on learning and practical application, participants will gain expertise in selecting and cultivating crops, managing livestock, and implementing sustainable farming practices. This course empowers individuals to increase food security, reduce reliance on external resources, and contribute to a more sustainable food system.
Course Instructor(s):

Kerry Alfred
Kerry Alfred an Animal Scientist by profession, has been in the livestock landscape of Trinidad and Tobago for the last twenty eight (28) years. He is the holder of a Diploma in Livestock Production and Management from the Regional
Educational Programme for Animal Health Assistants (R.E.P.A.H.A) in Guyana and a Master’s of Science in Tropical Animal Science and Production from the University of the West Indies.
He is currently part owner of Kerriyah Farms, which specializes in value added products such as cheese, yogurt and flavoured milk, all made from goat milk, as well as rabbit meat and chevron (goat meat).
