Unlock Your Potential With Financial Assistance From These Programmes (GATE Funding & HELP Loan)

Welcome to a journey of academic excellence and personal growth! Oftentimes, students have the skill, the drive and the passion to be successful but are restrained by their finances. Financial constraints quickly dim the light of furthering your education, therefore it is important to constantly seek avenues to propel you forward in your academic and professional careers. In the competitive landscape of education, it’s crucial to stay ahead of the curve, and two definite ways to do so is by enrolling in GATE services and/or for a HELP Loan. Whether you’re a high school student aspiring for top-tier universities or a college student aiming for advanced degrees, these government initiatives can assist.

What is GATE?

The Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses Programme (GATE) is managed by the Funding and Grants Administration Division (FGAD) of the Ministry of Education (MOE). The GATE Programme advances the Government’s philosophy for developing human capital, entrepreneurship and for permitting access to education for all.

Using the GATE eService, students will be able to access the GATE Programme through online submission of applications anytime and anywhere. Students will also be able to manage their applications and enquire into the current status of application(s) submitted.

Numerous success stories attest to the transformative power of GATE Services. Students who have availed themselves of these services have gone on to secure admissions in top-tier universities, pursue advanced degrees, and embark on fulfilling careers in their chosen fields.

What is a HELP Loan?

The Higher Education Loan Programme (HELP) is a low interest loan facility which provides financial assistance to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago who have a continued period of residency of at least three (3) years prior to application.

The HELP is managed by the Funding and Grants Administration Division (FGAD) of the Ministry of Education and covers tuition and non-tuition expenses related to tertiary education.
