THTI Hosts Hospitality & Tourism Faculty and Students from Guadeloupe

January 13th 2020

The Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (THTI) established an exchange agreement with the Hotel School Du Gosier in 2019 that included student and language exchanges and cultural experiences. To commence this  agreement, THTI hosted a contingent of 21 Tourism students and two members of faculty from the Lycée des Métiers de l’Hôtellerie et du Tourisme  Archipel Guadeloupe (College of Hospitality and Tourism  Archipelago Guadeloupe) on Sunday 26th January 2020. The group visited Tobago via the Costa Magica cruise ship as part of their Caribbean tourism studies project. The group enjoyed an island tour while interacting with THTI staff and students for the day. The island tour  began with a visit to the Botanical Gardens in Scarborough, Fort James Fort Granby, Speyside Lookout followed by a presentation by a member of the Environmental Research Institute in Charlotteville (ERIC) on sustainable  tourism development in North East Tobago (www.eric-tt.org).  The group drove along the scenic Northside road to Fort Cambleton, L’anse Fourmi, Bloody Bay and stopped in the village of Castara before heading back to the ship. THTI enjoyed hosting the group and look forward to further opportunities for exchanges. Photos courtesy @rissa_rissa_17.
