
Overview
If you have a passion for travel and tourism, our Tourism Studies degree will take your passion to a professional level. This course enables you to gain knowledge and skills in areas such as management, research, and marketing for the tourism industry. Our Tourism Studies Associate Degree Programme aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the sales, advertising and marketing of travel products. Students of the programme will be well equipped with the administrative skills to research, develop and promote tourism in specific destinations, localities and regions.
Duration
Applicants can pursue the Associate Degree in Tourism Studies:
Full Time: Two (2) Years or Part Time: Three (3) Years.
Each year is divided into three Semesters.
Classes are conducted Monday to Saturday depending on your courses and class schedules.

Entry Requirements
Caribbean Examinations Council CSEC (Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate) at General or Technical Proficiency:
- Five (5) subjects (English and Mathematics are compulsory) at Grades I, II and Ill OR
- Four (4) subjects (English and Mathematics are compulsory) at Grades I, II and Ill, and at least one (1) year’s work experience in the Hospitality Industry
General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCE) Ordinary Level:
Five (5) subjects (English and Mathematics are compulsory) at Grades A, B, and C OR
Four (4) subjects (English and Mathematics are compulsory) at Grades A, B, and C, and at least one (1) year’s work experience in the Hospitality Industry.
Successful completion of the THTI PATH Programme
Admission to the any of the THTI PATH Programme is based on satisfaction of the following pre-requisites:
Be at least eighteen (16) years of age before the date of application
Pass a basic Math & English evaluation test

Scholarships
The Associate Degree, Tourism Studies Programme is 100% GATE funded if eligibility requirements are met. Students with the intention of utilizing GATE funding must signify this upon admission.
While GATE covers 100% of Trinidad and Tobago citizens’ tuition, students are still responsible for annual student administrative fees.
Scholarships are also available for those pursuing full time studies
